Coaches vs Cancer Shirts


We will once again be participating in the “Coaches vs Cancer” fundraiser by selling t-shirts. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. Anyone who purchases a shirt will get into the February 3rd game free. Our goal is to have each player sell at least ten shirts! Orders and money are due on Wednesday, January 7th.  Print the order form here >>

We hope to have the gym full of shirts worn by players, coaches, cheerleaders and fans to show our support in the fight against cancer!

Traveling Youth Basketball Night was a huge success!

atbb_10kshotsThe December 12th Traveling Youth Night was a huge success! Not only did our varsity team come off with a nice win vs. Buffalo, we also had a fun activities the whole night. We had a fun half-time with a $100 winner of Shoot For Loot, many gift card prizes donated by our sponsor, Kamp Electric and a half-time scrimmage between two of the traveling teams! After the game, many youth received a JV/Varsity team poster and were able to meet the current JV/Varsity players and receive autographs from our current team! VERY FUN!!

Booster Club Meeting Wednesday, December 17th

We are in full motion now with the 2014-15 season and will be having our monthly booster club meeting on Wednesday, December 17th at 7pm (portable 203).

All parents of players grades 9-12 are encouraged to attend for season, committee and program updates. Booster meetings are the best place to stay informed about Husky basketball. We value your feedback and involvement!

This will be the week’s new schedule after today’s cancellation:

All interested boys basketball players must register and get clearance from the athletic office prior to Monday’s tryouts. Click here for more information how to register on-line or in person.

Tryout schedule looks like this:

  • All juniors and seniors tryout from 2:45 pm to 5:00 pm in the main gym on Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 10 and 11)
  • All sophomores tryout from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the main gym on Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 10 and 11)

Incoming Freshmen Registration and Tryouts

You must register your son for basketball tryouts before he will be allowed to participate in tryouts. No exceptions. Tryouts will be after school in the main gym on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (November 3rd, 4th and 5th) until 5:00 pm. Click for more information on tryouts and the season.

First Booster Club Meeting for the New Season

Learn more about the high school program and see how to get involved with the planning and implementation of special events and fundraising throughout the season. We meet at 7:00pm, Wednesday, September 17th at the high school in Coach Aune’s classroom, Room P203. Park in the lot next to the baseball fields and enter portable #2 (the portable nearest the parking lot.)

Youth Summer Camp Registration is Now Open

This summer’s boys basketball camp runs from June 23rd to June 27th with all sessions held at Andover High School:

Session 1: entering grades k-2, 8:00am to 9:30am, back gym

Session 2: entering grades 3-4, 8:00am to 9:30am, main gym

Session 3: entering grades 5-7, 10:00am to 12:30pm, main gym

Session 4: entering grades 8-9, 1:00pm to 3:30pm, main gym

Summer Youth Camp

Mark your calendar for this year’s summer youth basketball camp. Camp will last one week. It is scheduled for the week of June 23rd. More specific information and registration will be coming soon.

Section Final: #2 Andover vs #1 St. Francis Friday, March 7

The section 7AAAA championship game will take place at North Branch High School on Friday night. Come support the Huskies as they play St. Francis to defend their section title. The game begins at 7:00 pm. 

Home Playoff Game – 7:00 pm, Thursday, February 27 at Andover High School

The Andover boys basketball team completed their regular season schedule with a 77-64 win at Park Center on Saturday afternoon. The win improved their overall record to 12-13 (10-9 in the Northwest Suburban Conference.) Their regular season record earned them the #2 seed in the section 7AAAA tournament and a quarterfinal match-up with #7 Duluth East at Andover High School on Thursday, February 27 at 7:00pm. The winner will face the winner of #3 Cambridge and #6 Anoka on Tuesday, March 4 at 8:00pm at North Branch high school. The winner of that game advances to the section 7AAAA championship game on Friday, March 7 at 7:00 pm at North Branch high school.

Champlin Game from Feb 21st will not be rescheduled

The February 21st game against Champlin Park that was cancelled due to the snow day school closure will not be rescheduled. This is for all grade/level teams.
